As we all remember on September 5,2016 Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) launched Reliance Jio 4G claiming, it would be the cheapest ISP and will provide 1GB 4G data @₹50 ,At that time Airtel launched its 4G internet pack which was like for around ₹350 for 1GB 4G internet for a month.
JIO brought a revolution by giving unlimited free Internet to its users and continued it for 6 months forcing other leading ISPs like Airtel,Idea and Vodafone to make cheaper packs to stay in the race.
But good things ends up soon.
On April JIO’s free Internet ended and Reliance Industries Limited’s chairperson Mukesh Ambani anounced JIO prime, users have to buy prime membership for just ₹99 to get awesome internet packs, but as we all know India is full of namakharams, maximum JIO users didn’t opt for JIO prime, only 15% of users opted for JIO prime.
But it seems now JIO is back on track because Around 90 per cent of Reliance Jio users are estimated to have subscribed to its promotional Prime membership plan, as per a report by Bank of America Merill Lynch.
BoFAML conducted a survey of around 1,000 users mid-June who were using Jio as a primary SIM to better understand consumer perception and usage after end of its free service.
“We note that these users are not a representative of the entire market as this was an online survey targeting mainly mid-to-high end users and these users are predominantly using Jio as primary SIM,” the report said.
So lets hope Mukesh Ambani will keep on giving us surprises as I heard rumours that the he is going to launch his own DTH.Stay tuned to get more info about it 😉
